Büyükdere35 is pleased to announce Kübra Su Yıldırım’s 1wallexhibition entitled What’s Inside. On view
between May 16 to June 14, the exhibition explores themes such as desire and fear, time and timelessness,
presence and absence, identity and representation.

The installation opens with a direct question posed to the viewer: What’s Inside? This inquiry invites a
multi-layered conceptual space, delving into the human mind, existence, identity, the unconscious, impulses,
and the search for existence. Yıldırım’s work unfolds within a multilayered semiotic framework woven with philosophical, mythological, and psychoanalytic references such as Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, Jung’s Liber Novus, the Sword of Damocles, and the myth of Persephone. Grotesque forms, earthly desires, and the fragility of reality form the underlying themes of the exhibition.

What’s Inside avoids a linear narrative, instead inviting the viewer to reflect on concepts such as desire and fear, time and timelessness, presence and absence, identity and representation.
