Damla Özdemir focuses on the emptiness in her sense of belonging, the inauthenticity of the events around her, and the socio-cultural position of women, mostly in recent times. The artist opens up all these concepts for questioning in her own practice. Within this framework of questioning, Özdemir travels to Spain at different times within 2 years to reattain the sense of belonging. During this process, she holds exhibitions in Malaga, Cadiz, and Madrid, and at the same time, she is represented by a gallery in Malaga.
