Capsule

The epoxy sculptures and paintings in Duygu Aydoğan's artistic practice transform into a quest that presents the physical limits and psychological layers of being human. The sculptures, embedded in epoxy and solidified by freezing, give the impression of being contemporary fossils of humanity for the centuries to come. In today's world, there are rare scientific studies where people are frozen in capsules to wake up in the future, kept in a dormant state. Duygu Aydoğan, on the other hand, pursues a visual documentary production model that involves preserving and archiving humanity's evolving and evolving pathetic condition. In works that can be observed like reliefs, human sculptures are seen within epoxy, a shiny, dense material, depicting various parts of the body. The desire to be carried into tomorrow, coupled with the feeling of waking up in the future by freezing oneself, actually creates a striking paradox in the context of death and resurrection.

The exhibition "Capsule," which focuses on humans, evaluates the future imaginations of humanity in the past-present and future axis through the concept of living-nonliving. Starting from the egocentrism of the human being and his metamorphosis, the exhibition transforms into a contemporary paleontological research.

Historical and monumental visual explorations, where traces of human and the world are presented through sculptures that are frozen, offer a glimpse into the future thoughts of humanity by taking on the form of memories.
