Yağmur Doğan presents herself to the audience with her unique practice and recent works in the exhibition titled "Intoxication." Examining the complex nature of individuals' identities, starting from issues of self and identity, the artist continues her recent works in line with her previous productions.

Making a reference to Erving Goffman, a significant influence on her paintings, she sheds light on the conceptual perspective of "self" through her works. The world we live in is depicted as a theatrical stage where individuals are considered actors displaying multiple performances in their daily lives. She discusses how our identity undergoes constant reshaping through the performances we exhibit. When an individual encounters others, she explains how one reassesses and presents oneself, employing various strategies, using the concept of self. Encouraging questioning of the concept of self through the diverse performances each individual presents to others, she claims that our identity is a continuously changing performance. The title of the exhibition, "Intoxication," derives its name from the essence within, mingled with our being, representing our identity.

While exploring various layers and creating a multidimensional and variable identity, an individual navigates among the different selves they constantly rebuild. In her artistic practice, Doğan often creates flat areas in the background of the surfaces she uses, generally in the form of a single stain. In the works featured in the exhibition, she introduces micro-differences, aiming to establish a new relationship on the surface by adding lines to the background, creating layered transitions with stains on the upper part. The fluid and variable nature of the portrait silhouettes in Doğan's paintings offers a moment to contemplate our ever-changing identity. The audience is invited to experience the fluidity of self-perception through the paintings.
