SU ALARA ACEROL

Archaeologist, art historian and painter Su Alara Acerol studied at the Bilkent University Archeology and Art History Department undergraduate program with a full scholarship and then completed her master's degree at Koç University Archeology and Art History (Anatolian Civilizations and Cultural Heritage Management) with a full scholarship. She worked on various archaeological rescue excavations at home and abroad. Su, who entered Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Painting Department in 2015, graduated from Ahmet Umur Deniz workshop in 2019 as the top student of the department, faculty and school.

She received the First Prize in the Painting Department at the Sakıp Sabancı Art Awards. She participated in various group exhibitions in galleries and fairs such as Seven Sanat Gallery, Anna Laudel, Bazaart, Tüyap, Artcontact and Art Ankara, and received success awards from competitions. Her works are in the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Collection and many private collections. She opened his first personal exhibition at Istanbul Concept Gallery in October 2020.

In her paintings and engravings, she includes images and stories from world mythologies, benefiting from his archaeological background. While in some places she interprets primitive masks, in other places she brings Anatolian legends to the present day with the expression techniques of Japanese art.
