STEFAN RAGIMOV

Barcelona-based photographer and visual artist Stefan Ragimov discovered his intense devotion to the beauty of art at an early age. Born in Baku, USSR, Ragimov grew up between Moscow and Istanbul. He was inspired by every detail that these historical and artistic cities had to offer. He completed his undergraduate education at Budapest Metropolitan University, Faculty of Visual Arts. In 2012, Stefan's focus turned to photography, especially with the development of digital technology and post-production techniques. While dividing his time between Melbourne, Budapest and Buenos Aires, he experimented with various forms of visual art to express his ideas, aspirations, political stance and interests. Ragimov's art focuses on exploring themes such as identity, cultural taboos, sexuality, and ongoing social/political unrest in the Middle East and the former Soviet geography. His portfolio is full of prestigious events, such as participation in successful solo exhibitions and prestigious events such as Not Human Art Week.

In 2022, his works were exhibited at Art Nordic 2022, the largest art fair in Northern Europe. Stefan Ragimov uses digital techniques and post-production skills to transcend the boundaries of artistic expression, creating thought-provoking images that question social norms. Although he draws from his own personal experiences, he transcends boundaries by presenting powerful rebellious images within the framework of the patriarchal society in which he grew up.
