SEVGİ YANAR
Sevgi Yanar, born in Edirne, Uzunköprü, is a graduate of Avni Akyol Fine Arts High School. She completed her undergraduate and graduate education in the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. The artist has participated in exhibitions and symposiums both domestically and internationally. She is one of the founders of the "216 Thought and Production Area" initiative. In her paintings, she focuses on the relationships established in daily life and portrays the portraits of these relationships. Concentrating on depicting people, animals, objects, relationships, and even emotions in their simplest yet most reflective form, the artist's recent series of paintings are mostly set in spaces where water is predominant, and figures are seen behind the illusion of water. In recent times, she has been producing works using two different techniques together: besides the delicate control she exercises with dry paint, she also employs glass fusion, which is open to accidents and unintended outcomes during the firing process.
