SERKAN ALTINÖZ

Serkan Altınöz (b. 1985) is a dynamic and versatile artist living in Brooklyn who defies classification and limitations. Serkan's art explores the boundaries between the organic and inorganic, and the traditional and contemporary. By integrating the traditional Turkish marbling technique with a modern and experimental approach, it creates a fascinating fusion of old and new, East and West. Serkan's art is characterized by his fluid use of acrylic, enamel paints, chemical solvents, fire and water, creating abstract compositions inspired by nature and human experience. Serkan received most of his inspiration and early training from his father, Sedat Altınöz, a 5th generation marbling master at the Mustafa Düzgünman School in Turkey.

Constantly looking for new and innovative techniques, Serkan moved to New York in 2013. The artist, who pushes the boundaries of traditional marbling art by manipulating both organic and inorganic pigments on the water surface to transfer images to a variety of materials such as paper, canvas, glass and wooden panels, and three-dimensional objects, has recently expanded his artistic expression by producing NFT videos using video editing software and AI technology. Serkan's works have been featured in solo exhibitions such as Salomon Arts Gallery and Queens Botanical Garden in New York, and group exhibitions in Miami Beach, Chelsea and Vermont.
