PEMRA AKSOY

Pemra Aksoy, who completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology at Koç University, later pursued a Master's program in the Department of Fine Arts, Painting at Işık University. In 2022, she completed her doctoral studies in the Department of Painting at Mimar Sinan University with her thesis titled "Examination of Subjectivity in the Context of Autobiographical Art."

Her focus lies in the process of constructing the self of individuals who have been alienated and forgotten due to the culture, identity, and gender policies of society. In doing so, she particularly examines concepts such as "language, identity, selfhood, memory," questioning the constantly shifting boundaries between herself and others through her individual memory. The centerpiece of her work is drawing and sketching.
