NİLSU ALANYALI

Nilsu Alanyalı, born in Izmir in 1993, completed her undergraduate education in Cinema and Digital Media in 2017. In the same year, she directed her first and only short film, CTRL+Z. Afterwards, she worked on many films and photography projects in Turkey and abroad. Nilsu Alanyalı, a conceptual artist, focuses especially on the concept of time, the relationship between absolute reality and representation, and the phenomenological examination of existence in her works. Leaving aside subjectivity, it focuses on the questions of 'what' something is inherently and how unique perceptions are formed in the human mind through different cognitive processes. It aims to discover what is behind the representation of a singular moment by creating multi-layered and fluid images through different disciplines and various tools. Essentially, her works consist of archaic questions that human beings have been asking for thousands of years but still cannot find clear answers to today. Alanyalı, who moved to Neuchatel, Switzerland in 2023, continues her artistic production there.
