Melike Yiğit
Melike Yiğit (b. 1997, Izmir) is a multidisciplinary artist. She received both her BA and MA in American Culture and Literature from Ege University. Her practice explores the aesthetic
and conceptual parallels between modernist writing and early modern art. Themes frequently associated with modernist literature—such as fragmentation, individual isolation, and the destabilization of perceived reality—reappear within the artist’s visual language. Working primarily with figurative imagery, she often positions the human body within a liminal space between nature and culture. Drawn from literary influences, her works often depict the human body within nature, yet as a presence that does not fully belong to it. She lives and works in Izmir, Turkey.
