KEREM ARDAHAN X BIYIKOF

Çağlar Bıyıkoğlu (Ankara, 1979), also known as Bıyıkof, received his bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts. He worked as an illustrator and art director in advertising agencies such as Gray Istanbul, TBWAİstanbul and Concept. He has focused on painting and illustration since 2013, and has continued to draw and paint with both digital and analog materials since then.
The artist's works generally deal with concepts such as weakness, contradiction and conflict. The artist, who does not make any plans when starting a new work, begins by concentrating on his feelings, touching the blank canvas with paint and lines, and dirtying the canvas. The artist, who feels that this touch touches somewhere within himself, tries to connect with himself on this journey. His touches are sometimes full of anger and violence, and sometimes full of love and compassion.
Drawing takes him back to the earliest memories of his childhood; He becomes free, makes discoveries, encounters difficulties, conflicts, confronts, and at the end of the process, he comes to know himself better.

Kerem Ardahan (Ankara, 1983) completed his undergraduate education at Gazi University, Department of Visual Arts Education in 2005, and his master's degree at the Institute of Educational Sciences of the same university in 2008.
The artist has worked as an art director in various movies and commercials to date, and has also created various product designs at Punta Design, which he founded until 2013. Ardahan, who has held three personal exhibitions, currently continues his art works in his workshop in Kadıköy.
As adults, while we prioritize meeting society's expectations in our daily lives, we also need free spaces to feel like we are individuals. He looks for the recipe for freedom in the options offered to us by the structure we have been conditioned to; We turn a deaf ear to the voices coming from within us. The artist, who often feels stuck in this dilemma, tries to reflect the moods created by the situation in his works, sometimes by pointing out this situation and sometimes by dancing in the free space he has carried from his childhood to the present.
