İrem Yılmaz

İrem Yılmaz was born on February 5, 1996, in Istanbul. Toward the end of her high school education, she recognized her inclination toward the fine arts and began receiving her first training in painting studios. In 2016, she was awarded a full scholarship to study in the Graphic Design Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Yeditepe University. After two years, believing that graphic design alone was not sufficient for her artistic development, she began a minor in Plastic Arts and Painting, further deepening her academic and artistic perspective, and graduated in 2021.

The artist reflects the emotions of her inner world, the emotional states she observes, and the images she envisions in her mind onto her canvas by blending them with narratives. This abstract inner expression sometimes takes form on familiar surfaces, such as the texture of fabric; at other times, it materializes in the shape of an object, a figure, or in layered combinations of various elements.
