GÜHER ELÇİÇEK

Born in Istanbul in 1974, the artist completed an undergraduate degree at Doğuş University’s Faculty of Art and Design and a master’s degree in Painting at Marmara University. Following the first group exhibition, “Graduates with Honors,” the artist participated in various group exhibitions in Türkiye and abroad.

Drawing on the cyclical relationship between nature, the universe, and humanity, the artist places the concept of “transformation” at the center of their practice. Although their ceramic works and paintings share formal similarities, each exists in its own singularity, reflecting the individual’s place in the universe and the balance between difference and wholeness.

Exploring the stages of life and the journey of the soul, the artist invites viewers to engage in reflection on both individual and universal levels. Beginning, movement, searching, completion, and rebirth form the layers of transformation, a recurring theme throughout their work. Through this approach, the artist offers an aesthetic experience while opening a space for contemplation on the cyclical nature of existence.
