EDA EMİRDAĞ

Eda Emirdağ’s practice operates at the intersection of art, research and social engagement. Working across photography, video, collage and performance, she investigates how images shape cultural memory, identity and collective emotion. Her work delves into socio-political and ethical issues such as women’s body politics,
migration, and representation, while also examining archiving practices and the aesthetics of display. Emirdağ often develops participatory frameworks that invite others into the storytelling process, blending artistic expression with collective inquiry and healing. She has held solo exhibitions/project launches in Sweden and the England, and participated in group exhibitions in Japan, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Germany and Pakistan.
Through her projects, Emirdağ questions systems of power embedded in visual culture—whether in the portrayal of refugees, the idealisation of the female body, or the invisibility of marginalized narratives. Her practice proposes art as a site of dialogue and re-connection, where personal and shared histories can be reimagined through empathy and collaboration.
