DİLAY ÖĞMEN

Dilay Öğmen (2001), started her education on the arts at Denizli Highschool of Fine Arts and continued at Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting Department. She also took one semester of her bachelor studies at West University of Timişoara’s Faculty of Arts and Design as an international exchange student. She graduated with her bachelor thesis in which she examined the relationship between spontaneous improvisational creative process and personal space theme in the arts. During her education, she took place at several group exhibitions. Continues her works in İzmir/Türkiye

In her works, she reflects daily life moments from her memory to the surface by drawing them with an effort of preserving the dynamism of spontaneity. The practice allows the solid real moments which have turned into personal memories to have a second transformation and find their unique forms after all the colors, lines, expressions and natural manipulations added onto them. Those moments used in the works, usually contain or consist of public and domestic interiors, especially her home that takes an important amount of place in her mind with all the personal objects and feelings in it.
