BURCU BÖCEKLER

She was born in Izmir in 1980. She completed her undergraduate education at Ege University, Department of Art History, her master's degree at Dokuz Eylül University, Department of Photography, and her doctorate at Ege University, Department of Art History. She has been working as a lecturer at Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Photography and Video, since 2009. She continues her studies in the fields of photography history, photography theory, alternative photographic printing techniques such as cyanotype, van dyke brown, gum bichromate, and analog photography, and teaches courses in this field. She attended the international photography conference Helsinki Photomedia, held at Aolto University, with his papers in 2014 and 2016. In 2017, she opened her personal exhibition "Panoramic Traces" at the Lomography Embassy Store in Galata, Istanbul.

She participated in international photography festivals with her photographs: “Istanbul Blue” at Fotoİstanbul (Beşiktaş International Photography Festival) in 2017, “Silent Blue” at the 9th BursaFotoFest (International Bursa Photography Festival) in 2019, “One” at the 10th BursaFotoFest in 2020. She opened the exhibitions titled "Box Found, Glass, In Search of the Negative". Her series "Istanbul Blue" was published in the international art design magazine "212 Magazine". The “Istanbul Blue” series was exhibited at the Art Gallery of the Department of Art History of the University of Amsterdam in 2019. In 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, she held cyanotype and analog photography workshops at Fotoistanbul, 212 Photography Festival, Fkare'08 Photography Festival organized by Yıldız Technical University Photography Club, Özyeğin University Photography Days and the University of Amsterdam.
