BANU UĞURAL

Banu Uğural was born in Ankara. She finished primary school in Helsinki, attended secondary school and high school in Ankara, and then graduated from the Irish National Faculty of Fine Arts, where she studied at the university, with an honorary award from the textile design department. For ten years in the ready-made clothing industry; She also worked as the 'non-denim' men's design chief at Mavi. She completed her master's degree in cultural management at Istanbul Bilgi University. In order to draw attention to garbage and to spread the concept of 'upcycling', she implemented workshops for children in schools in different villages and cities of Turkey with her project called 'Don't Throw, Use'. She had the chance to participate in the 'Mamut Art Project' in 2018 and various group exhibitions in Ireland in 2019. Currently, she teaches master's and doctoral students at Yeditepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphic Design, on social responsibility and circular design. The artist continues his art production in Istanbul.
