Wounds

Leyla Emadi presents to the audience the layered wounds and her inner world, which have formed through various traumas and vulnerabilities experienced from the past to the present. By removing the boundaries woven with the instinct of protection, the artist unfolds the wounds, layer by layer, in her exhibition titled "Wounds." This exhibition, which is the first step of a long-term project, reflects the transfer of the healing process with nature onto paper and canvas.

Inspired by Rumi's words:
"If the moon doesn't rise over your face,
If the sun doesn't shine into your window,
Look for the fault neither in the sun nor the moon.
Open the curtain in your eyes."

Building on these words, Leyla Emadi turns her gaze more attentively and purely towards nature and the experiences within her own inner world. Each recognized and cleansed wound, through acceptance, brings one step closer to the true self. Known for her material usage from previous exhibitions, the artist emphasizes engravings, paintings, and paper works in "Wounds." Through interventions in the space, she draws visitors into her inner world, inviting them to awareness and acceptance.
