DEEP ROOTS, SILENT BLOOMS

Four Seasons fill the measure of the year;
There are four seasons in the mind of man:
— John Keats, The Human Seasons

Büyükdere35 is delighted to announce Eliz Gündüz’s first solo exhibition entitled Deep Roots, Silent Blooms. The exhibition presents a series of abstract expressions inspired by the cycles of nature and inner transformation, translated onto canvas through the artist’s intuitive and lyrical approach. Gündüz delves into the essence of the four seasons through a poetic and instinctive approach, seeking to inspire visuals in the audience that include themes of grounding, exploration, nature, the inner world, and spiritual elevation.
Gündüz associates the human spiritual journey with the transformation of seasons and nature by anchoring the exhibition in John Keats’ poem The Human Seasons. From the hopeful awakening of spring to the vibrancy of summer, from the quiet acceptance of autumn to the introspective retreat of winter, this cyclical flow is reflected in the artist’s compositions.
Each painting captures the subtle narratives of nature—the silent passage of time, the resilience of flowers that bloom with patience, and the unseen forces that shape growth. Layered techniques evoke the deep, unseen roots of life beneath the surface, while dynamic color palettes signal renewal and transformation. Gündüz’s brushwork shifts between fluid, ephemeral gestures and richly textured surfaces, echoing the organic rhythms of nature.
Deep Roots, Silent Blooms is an ode to quiet yet powerful growth, to roots that anchor and blossoms that reach toward the new. Beyond the colors and textures on canvas, the exhibition invites viewers to contemplate their own inner landscapes and the imperceptible yet profound transformations that unfold within.
