Seyma Turk is a painter and illustrator, was born in 1990 in Kayseri. After graduating from Selcuk University, Department of City and Regional Planning in 2012, Şeyma Türk who started Istanbul Technical University Urban Design Master Program in the same year, also received a minor education in the architecture department. She Şeyma Türk’s illustrations have appeared in several scientific, cultural, and literary magazines like Kafkaokur and Mikrop. She also prepared cover art designs to be published in local and foreign digital music channels. She currently continues to work in her personal atelier in Istanbul Moda.
NEITHER I AM ALICE NOR THIS IS WONDERLAND
…“A talking bunny! A pocket watch, I wondered, I should follow it.” said Alice and went into the hole that the rabbit went into without thinking about how she would get out again. But what is that! Everything changed in a moment. It was not a rabbit hole anymore. Alice has found herself falling into a deep and strange well… Yes, when I first read this tale, I believed (they made me believe) that growing up is as complicated as falling into the rabbit hole and it would be as amazing as Wonderland after reaching it. But neither I was Alice, nor the world I live in was Wonderland. I tried to portray my fairytale-ish disappointment in a critical way.
