Özge Yağcı

She was born in Antalya, in 1983 and completed her undergraduate education at the Department of Urban Planning of the Faculty of Architecture, METU. She has taken courses from various disciplines such as Fine Arts and Industrial Product Design during her undergraduate period, Yağcı then continued her postgraduate education at the Department of Ceramics of the Institute of Fine Arts of Akdeniz University. In 2022, the artist completed her art proficiency education at Dokuz Eylul University Art and Design Department, nowadays she works her studies in her atelier in Antalya.

In her works, the artist tries to establish a dialogue, namely natural or artificial structures and mechanisms between the individual (the artist herself) and the other individuals often occurs in the form of deciphering a dialogue that cannot be established. This comes as a narrative developed through material rather than performative action. Yağcı develops a space setup through themes such as the city/house/home/family/individual/society that cannot be established. In a sense, she, herself as one of the characters of this space, goes after her missing side.
