MRE

Emre Karaoğlu was born in İstanbul in 1988. He graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts Sculpture Department of Marmara University in 2015. He’s been working in various disciplines such as sculpture, ceramic, digital arts and décor since his undergraduate years. In addition, he’s been producing anonymous sticker and paste ups on the street. In late 2018, with the creation of the “side-toothed” characters and “MRE” moniker, he started to work on his own style on different surfaces with different techniques. MRE describes himself as an artist who tries to be active on the street by constantly changing the colours and characters of his stories and retelling them around Lowbrow and Pop-Art styles.
Recently, in his workshop in Kadıköy and on the street, he has been working on his “side-toothed” creatures in different materials by mix up the left over forms from his past relationship with sculpture with anything he can think of. /p>
