Kerem Ardahan x BIYIKOF
Çağlar Bıyıkoğlu (Ankara, 1979) completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design in Faculty of Fine Arts at Anadolu University. Later on, he worked as an art director and illustrator at advertising agencies like Grey Istanbul, TBWAIstanbul and Concept. In 2013, the artist focused merely on painting and illustration. Since then, he has been working using both digital and traditional mediums.
Bıyıkoğlu’s works usually focus on notions of weakness, paradox and conflict. During his creation process, the artist starts painting without making any plans, as the brush touches to the canvas, he connects with his inner self.
He discovered art when he was a kid. While he is painting, the artist recalls those memories from the very first periods of his life and through that special moments he explores himself.
Kerem Ardahan (Ankara, 1983) completed his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Faculty of Fine Arts at Gazi University. He moved to Istanbul in 2008 and worked as an art director in film and advertising industries. In 2013, the artist founded a product design store, Punta Design.

While on the one hand we tend to prioritise our actions according to the expectations of society, on the other hand to be an individual, we need free spaces. Yet, in order to find a way to be a free individual, most of the time we ignore our inner voice and look for the solutions the main structure, the source of our conditioned behaviors propose.
Mostly stuck in this dilemma, the artist occasionally points it out in his works, whereas he sometimes chooses to reflect what this state triggers, while enjoying in his very own and imaginary free space that he created when he was a kid.
