Gizem Konyar
The common point in the images I use and describe the lives of people in different regions of our country is their subjectivity and passion. With my works created in my own universe, Anatolian women / people / children and
their natural and pure lives, strong women / people, helpless people and their various dilemmas, I show the audience my separate but related works with different mediums. In my fiber-based works, I obtain living surfaces
by using natural sheep wool from different regions of Anatolia together with the sewing technique. At the same time, I focus on the imbalance of equivalence in beauty. Using the free stitching and embroidery technique and
the reverse-flat-complex effect, which consists of the reflection of the clean image on the front surface to the back, , I actually reflect how difficult the destruction is in us, the wounds we live in our lives, without any
intervention with crooked and intertwined threads, in its natural state. In this context, I use the zoomer, healing and transformative effects of animals and humans. Emphasizing that what is told in all my works is actually our
story, I present a synthesis of experiences, and dreams that we all know.
