Gizem Çelik
I was born in Eskişehir in 1989, and my journey with fine arts began during my university years. I initially studied painting for about two years but later discovered that I could better express myself through the art of photography. In 2011, I moved to Istanbul to receive photography training, and I have been living and creating here ever since.
My artistic practice is primarily shaped by observation, and conveying emotions holds a significant place in it. Therefore, I observe the impact of situations that I have personally experienced or have been involved in as an outsider on myself and on various dynamics. I then construct a photographic narrative that reflects the synthesis resulting from these observations, both through objects and people.
