Diana Page, born in Durban, South Africa in 1965, holds an Honours in Painting from the University of Natal (1982-1986). She gained her Masters in Fine Arts (Painting) from Rhodes University, South Africa 1989 -1992), also acquiring a post-graduateSecondary Education Diploma from the University of Cape Town (1988). Her teaching positions include Acting Vice Principal and Head of Painting at the Ruth Prowse School of Art, Cape Town (1999 -2001).She is a mid-career artist who has achieved extensive recognition for her work, through multiple individual (kişisel) exhibitions and participation in a number of group (karma) exhibitions, both abroad and here in Istanbul, Turkey.
Diana Page moved her home and studio from Cape Town, South Africa to the Bosphorus, Istanbul in 2006. In 2008 she was awarded the Ampersand Fellowship to New York City and in 2018 she completed an artist’s residency at Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris.Diana Page’s work is collected widely, and is included in several important academic and corporate collections including the Jack Ginsberg Artists Book Collection. Her work in Painting, Drawing and Performance traverses issues of space, home and identity; encouraging thought about the urban and wild spaces that shape us as communities, citizens and people. Her paintings offer the viewer a space for reconnection; a place to reinhabit their own stories of place and home.
