SALİHA YILMAZ
Born in Balıkesir in 1985, Saliha Yılmaz graduated from Balıkesir Fine Arts High School, Department of Painting. She completed her undergraduate education at Yeditepe University, Department of Plastic Arts and Department of Fashion and Textile Design with a double major program. She completed her master's degree at the same university's Department of Plastic Arts with her thesis titled "Intermediate Creatures, Identityless Forms". The artist, whose works have been featured in many group exhibitions, opened her last solo exhibition at Gallery Merkür in 2020. In her ceramic sculptures and paintings; she relates the concepts of identity, gender and alienation to urban life and nature. In her works, she explains human alienation through the metaphors of flowers, plants, animals and buildings. The artist, who participated in residency programs in various places such as England, China and Turkey, lives and produces in Istanbul.
